Don't forget the camera! The Castle in the Sand children's activities program is sure to provide many Kodak moments! The Castle is proud to welcome back Sandy Johnson as Lady Sunshine, Sunshine the Clown, and Captain Sunshine! Sandy has performed all over the world, including the White House and the Bahamas! With her sidekick, Lady J, count on an uproariously good time for kids of all ages, even the big kids - the adults!

The Mermaid Show is a popular activity at this Ocean City oceanfront hotel! Lady Sunshine tickles the funny bone and amazes all with magic in the unforgettable tale of The Castle Mermaid... a magical story of "Merrilee," the mermaid that lives in the waves right in front of The Castle in the Sand. She believes all the children at The Castle are "Royal Children," Princes and Princesses. Merrilee hides seashells from around the world for the "Royal Children" to find.

"Lady J" recruits little princes and princesses to assist in the shows! Lady J delights all the guests with her puppets, magic and jokes. Children will find themselves rolling in the sand with laughter!

One of the most popular free family activities is Pirate Day! Guests of all ages are welcome to participate. Captain Sunshine and Captain J are the funniest pirates you'll ever find. This program is a hit with all the little sea dogs! All are welcome to make a pirate hat and then dig through the many costumes before taking the "pirate oath" and joining our silly ragtag pirate crew! After the pirate oath is taken the story of the lost treasure is told and pirates set out in search of the buried treasure!

There are also arts and crafts including message in a bottle, postcard making, pet shell making, and the most popular arts and crafts activity is "Silly Hat Making!" Families come together to design their own one of a kind hats. Many of the children use them for silly hat day at their schools. There is Fabulous Face and Body Painting, still an all-time favorite. Even the parents get in on the act!
